Whistlebrae
Well, folks, this is my Aga - the colour is not quite as it should be on this photo - it is in fact dark green.

And a couple of photos of the kitchen - the only room I have managed to have decorated in the 4 years I have been here!

And the last one which shows the permanent canine fixture on the window seat ha ha! He spends his entire day looking out!

That is a lovely kitchen! Did I miss seeing a wine rack? LOL. There is nothing nicer than seeing a dog looking out a window. My little dog sits on top of our couch looking out the window most of the day. You never know when a squirrel will decide to trespass on his property and he has to bark at it to get it out of the yard!

Pretty kitchen, Rosa, and I love the colour scheme. The island fits in beautifully - an excellent buy! Is the Rayburn only used for heating now?

No, I no longer use the Rayburn, Diat. I much prefer cooking on gas. And the new central heating system is run by its own stand-alone boiler in the coal shed!
It is the same colour scheme I had back in Kenya for my kitchen - coffee coloured wood and peachy walls - I think these colours go together so well.

I love your kitchen, Rosie. The color is so bright and cheerful, and it's so spacious.

But when I moved in here, Stella, there was only about one metre of worktop on which to prepare food etc. So the first thing I splashed out on was the granite topped kitchen island unit that you see in the middle of the room - It was money well spent!

Oh, I am in LOVE with your kitchen! I could spend many happy hours cooking in such a wonderful space. I remember when you got the granite topped island, but had never seen it in place in the kitchen - what a perfect addition.

Thank you, the island unit is my pride and joy - It is made of solid oak and it took 4 men to carry it in, because it is just so heavy!

And did you have lots of fun saying, "over here, no, over there, no perhaps here, no put it where we had it originally"?

Lol, all I can remember is 4 grumpy Orcadian men complaining at how heavy it was, Diat!
It had been in their store room for 3 months awaiting delivery! You just cant rush Orcadians ha ha.

That's a nice kitchen, RB. The peach walls match the ones in my bedroom.
