Not really, skeeter. This is such a small island, and there are already 65 empty properties up for sale or rent here.
And being a woman living on her own with no tradesmen around, well one property is rather a nightmare to maintain, never mind two!

Ah... I wasn't sure as it was a small place, whether there would be many properties available to rent, so maybe there'd be a good market. :(

Re: My very sad saga!
I forgot to mention that I also bought a car on behalf of this BH woman that she had seen for sale on Sanday and liked. So that was even more expense, what with the insurance and the road tax. I am now actively trying to sell this car, but no takers so far.

Oh, dear. You did get taken to the cleaners, didn't you? It looks like a nice car though, so good luck with selling it, RB.

I'm simply amazed at the gall of BH... hope she slithers back under her rock and stays there.

The Audi is known here as an "island" car as it has recently failed its annual MOT, so it cant be driven off the island without rectifying the fault it has. But it is perfectly legal to be driven on Sanday - very strange traffic laws here ha ha.

What's an MOT?

Wikipedia says "The MOT test (or simply MOT) is an annual test of vehicle safety, roadworthiness aspects and exhaust emissions required in Great Britain for most vehicles over three years old".

I thought it might be something like that - we also have vehicle safety and emissions tests over there.

Are they also mandatory and done annually, Drac?

Re: My very sad saga!
Yes, the safety inspections are mandatory, although the emissions tests are not required everywhere. Some of the more less populated areas don't require them. I can get either a one or two year license. If I get a two year license, I only have to get the inspection every other year. It all varies from state to state.

Ah right - this is all new to me as we had nothing like this in Jersey.

And of course Kenya had all sorts of safety and emissions requirements, right?

New Jersey requires vehicle inspections every 2 years now. It used to be every year, but it's just not practical anymore with the number of cars registered here. My inspection comes up this April.
