Merry Christmas to you too, Diat! I'm think a new stand mixer might be in my future! My step-daughter from Virginia is here and madly baking 18 coffee cakes for family and friends. My little hand mixer is starting to smell funny! This is a tradition she is continuing that her mother used to do at Christmas. She usually has our granddaughter helping, hoping to pass the tradition down one more generation.

A Merry and Blessed Christmas to one and all! Christmas Eve with the family went off without a hitch. My great nephews, 7 and 9 (for some reason I thought the younger one was already 8) started and completed the Puss n Boots game. They saved Christmas and all was right with the world! The grown ups were busy playing their reindeer games...Blurt and a bunch of others while I and the boys were in the study playing Puss n Boots. At one point, the older boy, Ethan, got up and closed the door to the study complaining that the grown ups were too loud and making too much noise! How is that for roll reversal!

Now I'm busy cooking for the eight that will return today for Christmas Dinner and more games. So today, I get to sit at the Big Kids table!

Merry Christmas everyone, hope everyone one is having a Great Day. Mine is actually quiet today... our family celebrates on Sunday... hard to get everyone together 21 1/2 to get ready for... so some cleaning needs to be done today. ... Me I am sitting with my Surface Pro 3 opened reading the latest Patricia Cornwell's new book... and loving it. (must admit I have read all of her's so far... well not the Jack the Ripper one, yet.)
Tomorrow is the day for festivities...good folk...good food... good kids opening and playing with all their gifts from family... they are like 3 to 4 or so.... lot's of fun watching them.
And Drac.. what a wonderful tradition to carry on.

Well, everyone has gone home and Charlie FINALLY gets to come in the house and claim her favorite spot. "Thank you for TWO pillows, Mom!" Yup, nothing says Christmas like 70 lbs of dog on the couch! Merry Christmas to all!
