Anyone been watching the World Cup games?

The Women's World Cup has been going on in Canada and the matches are being shown on Fox, Fox Sports 1, and Fox Sports 2 in the US. I don't have cable, but I've been able to watch some of the games on Fox broadcast channel with an antenna.

It's been on BBC3 here in the UK - we watched the second half of the England/Colombia match last night. Very strange to see so many empty seats at a World Cup match!

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if it wasn't advertised at all or at least not much in advance. I bet a lot of American girls would have loved to be in those seats! But we can't safely travel to Canada without a passport, now (not if you want be sure to be able to get back home, anyway.)

The really bad thing is that FIFA is making the women play on artificial turf, which is like playing on crumbly asphalt because it gets so terribly hot and also kicks up toxic pieces of "turf dust".

I haven't gotten to watch any of it. All it does here is rain which means the weed are epic this year and I'm only TRYING to keep up with them in the gardens. Pretty much of a losing battle, but I keep at it.

Not much of a sports fan myself. I watched women's hockey during the Olympics in Whistler, that's about it for me and sports
