A Bit Of Encouragement Needed

Post by StarLite »

Good day fellow tenants. Well in a couple of hours I'm off to the dentist. Those of you who know me know about my anxiety problem and how difficult leaving the house is going to be for me. I've taken my pinkie and sucking on my Tums but would like a nudge of encouragement from my friends. Will let you know how it goes when I get back

Here comes a little bit of encouragement from me! You know when it is all over, all will be well, so just concentrate on being back home, not the going there.

My mom is 91 and dreaded going to the dentist yesterday. But when I talked to her last night, she said it went really well and everything was fine. So, just think about the "after" not the "before!"

I get through dentist visits by telling myself "in 20 minutes I'll be out of here". I'd tell you to grit your teeth, but that would rather defeat the object, eh? Think nice thoughts until you're home again.

Pray it goes well StarLite - coming up out of that chair is like stepping off a roller-coaster for me.

Thank you wonderful friends for your kind words of encouragement, they worked great. On the way there and in the chair I thought about your messages and went over them in my mind. The cleaning went well, not as painful. No cavities or infection.

I just got home, I spent the day at the clinic, I got there at 2:00pm and just got home at 5:00pm. I got my foot x-rayed, blood tests and got a couple of more appointments for an EKG an a mammo. All in all it is great to be home.

I got a little worried at the blood clinic though, I felt a bit of a wave come over me and I though, oh no no no, don't do this now, go away, go away and I was fine. What a time he had trying to get blood out of me, then finally he tried my hand, got about two vials when everything stopped, turned out there wasn't enough vacuum in the tubes to draw the blood.

I've got to try to get out more, but not so soon. Thank you once again good friends, you were with me every step of the way

Well done, you!

I don't know how this anxiety works, but does it help to get out more or does it just make it more stressful?

What happens Drac is that when I know I have to go out, I lose control of my bowels and bladder. But it also hits me at home, sometimes I'll get angry for no reason, other times I'll just get a feeling of melancholy or just a feeling of hopelessness or a draining feeling. Thankfully I'm not like it all the time, it does come and go, but the going out is the worst. I really enjoyed being out today, I told hubby I'd like to go out more often. I miss our Sunday drives we used to do, I'd like to go visit the old place where hubby grew up.

Being out isn't stressful unless there is a stressful situation. I've never had those and hope I never do. The Bromazapam is a wonderful drug it is also a pain killer, so I get double results. My back and foot was really bad when I came home, it's still a bit sore, by tomorrow I should be good. So that's it, maybe if I do go out more it could go away, it's just getting out the door. :flower:

That's what I wondered - if going out more would help. It does sound like getting past the door is the worst part; then you may enjoy actually being out. Sunday drives are the best!

Well done, StarLite - You did really well, having to go to all those different clinics. Maybe once the nicer weather arrives, it will spur you into going for those lovely drives with Hubby once again x x

Well done Starlite! Now if you have to go out, take a leisurely drive with hubby rather than to the clinic! Can't have you restricting your outings to the most stressful place, can we? Take care!

You faced a difficult situation, StarLite, and came through it okay. I wish you many more good days out in the world!

Thank you everyone once again. The BIG test comes on Monday morning, I have an appointment to get an EKG at 9:45. I considered canceling and going to another clinic in the afternoon, but then I decided that I am trying to work through this, so I will keep the morning appointment. My doctor is away till May 25th, so I won't get the results of the tests or my foot treated till then.

They keep getting on me about my health card so I guess I'm going to have to get that changed. I'm not making two trips so I'll wait till my papers come in for my driver's license. I have one more test to go after the EKG and that's it for the year or two whenever. Tomorrow I may tackle my rose garden and pull all the dregs growing around them. Well I'm off to finish my coffee and clean the bathroom.

Take care everyone and have a great day :flower:
