I have 2 Malamutes living right next door to me, and I can hear them howling when they are left on their own - what an eerie sound they make.

I have to disagree with you all. To me, barking/howling dogs are torture. I have had to endure inconsiderate dog owners letting their dogs bark all day (and sometimes all night) too many times, and sometimes they have been so loud that they wake me up (or drive me crazy if I am already awake) even through ear plugs. :(

Any noise at night drives me batty, dogs I can tolerate. I am dead set on getting everyone to coast into spring so how about some Tulips and kittens. Click the pics to enlarge :flower:

The kittens are very cute thanks StarLite! I'm a cat person rather than a dog person.

I sooooo totally agree with barking dogs. That is not a sound of summer. In fact, we had a neighbor that had a kennel right under our bedroom window and if they saw a racoon or whatever at night, they would bark for hours. We finally had to call the police after they didn't do anything after we called them. That is such an annoying sound - especially when you are trying to sleep. My dogs are only out for a few minutes at a time and the one will bark when he is outside, but, I don't leave him outside. His bark is very annoying and I know that so I hope I am a good neighbor and am not getting the neighbors riled up. plus, my dogs are never ever ever out at night and allowed to bark. that is so rude.

We are so conscious of our dog barking that, when the neighbour's house went for sale, we told the real estate agent to phone us when she was having a viewing so that we'd keep the dogs in. Actually, there'd be a whole lot less barking from Bitsy if only there were a whole lot less squirrels. But she was a rescue dog and three when we got her, so her habits were well and truly set in concrete. We both love her to bits!
