Feeling very sorry for myself lol!

On Friday afternoon, I endured 3 hours of torture in the dentists chair - He was doing prep. work for a bridge fitting - What should have taken 90 minutes, actually took double that time. For whatever reason!. But that is not the end of the story - Ever since then, I have been in excruciating agony every minute of every day. Cant eat, cant drink, cant speak - Been taking continuous painkillers which are rapidly running out now. Have not slept much and feel so groggy with all these analgesics. That is it! I was supposed to have 2 more bridges, but no - enough is enough lol.

And then I think of what Stella has gone through these past few months - I know, I am a wimp!

Poor RosaB! No hell like tooth pain. What on earth did he do? Did you have to have major work done first? If nothing else, drink, your body needs it. If it's no better by tomorrow, call him first thing.

I cant call him - He comes from Aberdeen and is only here on a Friday and Saturday.

I will at least try and get to see my Doctor today for some painkillers - Maybe I have an infection?

Oww, RB! Did the dentist have to pull a tooth for this bridge? If so, you may have a dry socket. If not, you may indeed have an infection. I hope your doctor can help.

That was my thought - an infection. Maybe some antibiotics would also be in order. My husband had an implant done along with other prep work for a bridge and he didn't have anything like this.

I went to the Doctor, he gave me paracetamol and ibuprofen - He also gave me antibiotics which he told me not to take, unless I was pretty sure I had an infection. He had a good "feel around" and in his opinion, no infection.

I have an appointment booked for 11.30 tomorrow morning with the dental surgery, so I will make up my mind whether to go or not when I get up. But I still have the same continual pain.

And to make matters worse, I can only have soup at the moment and last evening the boiing hot soup slipped off the tray I was carrying and I scalded my hand - definitely not my weekend lol.

LadyK, he did not pull a tooth but he did have to build up a tooth where half of it had sheared away a few months ago. He also had to "cut into" 2 of my teeth either side of where the bridge will sit.

Hmmm... wonder if he "cut into" those two teeth a little too far and hit the nerves.

Well I do know that, when he was doing this cutting in, it was hurting really badly, despite having already had 2 injections, so he gave me another injection AND the fact that he was running well over an hour late, means I think he ended up doing a very hasty job at finishing off. And the cement work for the "temporary bridge" is so much "prouder" than my teeth on the untouched side means I could not chew anything even if I wanted to, as both sides of my mouth are totally uneven. All in all, a very unsatisfactory job IMO.

And when I walked out into the waiting room, there were all these people waiting for their appointments, all giving me very black looks - I was so p***ed off by this time, that I just glared back at them and said "It's not MY fault the dentist is running late!".

At that point, I would have been fuming too... Hope you get some good news tomorrow about this stinking pain.

I have just woken up and still have this pain - Its been almost 96 hours continuous now - so I have decided that I will go on the ferry this morning back to the dental surgery............... To be continued lol
