Re: Back from London
Thanks, Jude! Although I was busy, the schedule really wasn't hectic because the hotel (Grafton) is located a couple of doors down from the Warren St. tube station on Tottenham Court Road, and nearly everything I visited was either walkable or a short ride away. There are restaurants all over the city, and some are even in the theaters themselves. The National, where I spent a lot of time, has been doing renovations and has expanded their cafeteria area as well as adding a more upscale restaurant, so grabbing tea or a bite to eat is easy. Also, I've been to the city enough times now that I can pick and choose what I want to see or revisit.

Sounds fantastic, LadyK! I wonder if the Egyptian exhibit will still be there in May... maybe I will take a day trip into London.

It has been extended, but only until April 19, Skeeter. Here's the British Museum link:

Re: Back from London
I'm reading the book now, Val. The author pared the play down a bit, but it was wonderfully staged. They used a grid, like the Star Trek holodeck, on the 3 walls, and used projections to show drawings and formulas he drew on the floor, scenes from his trip to the city, and other images. The walls also had doors, and he would fetch props from them as he needed them.

Re: Back from London
Yes LadyK I had heard that the staging was wonderful. Hopefully it will come out here someday. Enjoy the book. Will be interested to know how you compare the two.
Re: Back from London

Re: Back from London
Yup! So I am planning a day in London to see it... thinking of seeing the Star Wars exhibit at Madam Tussauds and maybe going back to the Harry Potter studios as well. I want to go to Stonehenge, but it seems impossible to get on a tour from Brighton, so I have to go up to London first. And a lot of them go round a couple of other places, but I really just want to go there.
