Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
We'd have to be a bit more specific - would that be continuous hours of sleep? Or perhaps 2 hours then a trip to the bathroom, then half an hour awake, followed by 5 or 6 hours with minimum waking? For some of us, those wonderful nights when we were young and could sleep for 10 or 12 hours without waking and wake completely refreshed and raring to go are only a dim memory.
Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
Good point, Diat! NOT counting the trips to the bathroom, 8 hours for me now that I'm retired.

Add all your broken sleep hours up Diat, to get your total.

Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
It's hard to calculate mine because sometimes I pull an all-nighter, and sometimes I sleep for 10 hours (or 3 hours). I chose 7 because I think that's what it averages out to over the course of a month.

If I have 4 or 5 hours sleep, then its a lucky night for me because I am an insomniac

Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
I average about 7 hours, but it does vary depending on how involved I am with a game or some other project. Last night I played a casual game after the Tonight Show, then had to clear clean laundry off my bed, which I had forgotten about, so I didn't get to sleep until 4:00 AM and got up about 10:15. That's really not enough for me anymore, but when I was working, I was happy if I got 6 hours.

I'll go for 6 hours as I burn the candle at both ends - does sleeping at work when no-one's watching count?

Heh. It wouldn't have worked for me because a school is no place to try for a power nap, except sometimes on the part of the students.

Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
It is hard for me to judge how much sleep I get, but, I go to bed early as hubby and I watch different TV programs and so I just go to bed to watch my stuff. The TV stays on all night and I when I wake up I change the channel and watch some more. But, I am in bed quite a long time.... dunno how much of it is sleeping though. And I sleep with 3 dogs and they wake me up quite a bit.

I know what you mean, mbday, Benji was galloping in his sleep last night, his little legs going 19 to the dozen, and he kept waking me up!

I've been told that I dance in my sleep sometimes.

Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
We all seem to have different sleep routines. Personally, I have to have complete quiet and a dark bedroom so I'm always the last in bed. No dogs on beds these days, they take over the living room at night, but this is because they're getting older and can't jump on the high bed so easily.

Now I am totally the opposite Diat - I could not sleep in a totally dark room - I have to have a little night light plugged into the socket.

Re: Lets have some fun with a poll
ah, I wish my old dog would sleep in the living room. Now that he is too old to jump on the bed, he whines by the side of the bed until I pick him up. And that might be 2 or 3 times a night, if he decides he needs a drink or to explore something. I don't need a nightlight, but, my old dog does. So, besides the TV on all night for me, I have the nightlight on for the dog. Us oldies need to get to the bathroom without banging our toes!
