Can't get enough of this video from Germany! I first saw it posted at Ghostlady's Facebook page last year.
Witches Dance
This was started by the women of Wolfshäger Hexenbrut (in English: The Wolf Hunter's Coven), located in Wolfshagen im Harz, Germany.
They got together to celebrate Walpurgis, a holiday celebrating fertility, celebrations including lots of dancing, foods, and drinking which normally occurs every year on the 30th of April.
However, in 2016 their celebrations included a choreographed dance to Schüttel deinen Speck, in English: Shake Your Bacon, by German Reggae-Pop artist, Peter Fox, in 2008.
Since then, covens from all over the world have taken up the dance challenge and many have performed the dance live though, not in honor of Walpurgis, but rather, for Samhain, also known as Halloween.
After these various rival, call-back, and dance battle videos started popping up this has thereby turning Peter Fox's Schüttel deinen Speck into a now sort of universal anthem for witches.

Very good - they really are enjoying themselves!! Couldn't get my head round witches and reggae but the music really works!

I think it's a perfect witches anthem!

That's some quite peculiar bacon-shaking!

This one made me laugh, Drac! They definitely were having fun.
Speaking of green make-up
, did anyone else watch the NBC special celebrating the 15th anniversary of Wicked on Broadway last night? I went to see the show several years ago and loved it. It roughly follows Gregory Maguire's first book in his Oz series. If you haven't read the books, I recommend them highly. They present a darker and stranger version of Oz but still with the bones of the original Baum stories.

I loved that book series. I think I read it twice. I know I read Wicked twice.

Twister is our resident "character" at Longmeadow! He is the only horse that will stand in his stall with his head out for 4 hours during visitor days and let little kid pet and maul him. He is the only remaining survivor - still at the Ranch - of the horrific trailer wreck in 2006 and will live out his life at the Ranch. Two of our volunteers have trained him to "paint!" I have to admit some of them are very cool! During one of of Wagon Days earlier this year, The Today Show came out and filmed him with Mary Lou and Roberta.

Just loved the video, Drac! What a sweet horse and so patient with the youngsters. ♥

His mama was a thoroughbred, but of course we have no idea who his sire is. There were a couple of other pregnant mares on the trailer, but they both lost their foals. Mama was adopted and is living the good life belly deep in grass out in Colorado!
