Re: Highlights of 2015 for you?

Kickaha, you seemed to have more highs than lows. Drac, the opposite...though the flood was huge and you prevailed! For met the year started with my older brother having a heart attack and triple bypass at the age of 63. He recovered here with Mom and I for a month (for a while it looked like a real...

Re: New Years Eve and New Years Day

Well...our 2016 was greeted with 5 inches of snow! Considering we had virtually none the entire month of December...and experiencing Snowmaggedon last November, I will take this!

Here's hoping 2016 will be replete with good fortune for all Manorites!

Re: New Years Eve and New Years Day

Drac, you are such a servant. Will you be traveling by boat??? It will just be Mom and I for both days. Tonight will graze on deep dish pizza and hot sandwiches. We're watching college football games. We'll toast the New Year with Baileys Irish Creme. Then tomorrow I will make us a meal of prime rib...

Re: Epic Record Breaking Flooding Where I Live

Glad to hear that you are safe and well, Drac...albeit a bit inconvenienced. It's beyond me how so many political figures have their heads in the sands regarding climate change. Dang special interests prevail over the obvious...to the detriment of the planet!

Re: Happy Christmas to all Manorites

A Merry and Blessed Christmas to one and all! Christmas Eve with the family went off without a hitch. My great nephews, 7 and 9 (for some reason I thought the younger one was already 8) started and completed the Puss n Boots game. They saved Christmas and all was right with the world! The grown ups ...

Re: Christmas Dinner

Fiesta cheese is generally just a Mexican blend that is sold in the shredded cheese section, Diat. It's actually usually labeled Mexican blend.

Drac, since the woman that posted that recipe is the wife of a deployed service man, it would be perfect for the American Legion!

Re: Christmas Dinner

http://www.singingthroughtherain.net/2013/06/loaded-chicken-and-potatoes.html Here's the recipe, Drac. It's super easy to make and it is sooooo good! My niece posted it on her facebook page and has never made it or tried it. I found out from her sister that she won't even be in the same zip code wi...

Re: Christmas Dinner

Now that Mom and I are together, I have the whole gang over Christmas Eve (13 of us). Last year I had slow cooked top round, pulled pork, loaded chicken and potatoes, plain chicken breast for the little guys, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and salad. My nieces and sister-in-law will bake cookies and des...

Re: Holiday Spirit

LadyK and Drac, I understand the feeling of melancholy that can accompany a holiday in the absence of those we love. It's good that you are choosing to be festive through the decorations, the serving others, and the Baileys doesn't hurt either. :) I pray that you both will be seeing better days and ...

Re: A New Drink?

I recall one day at work, I was pouring a cup of coffee in the break room, and as I got the last of the pot, I decided to make a new pot. I dutifully poured the water into the coffee maker and then took the packet of ground coffee and proceeded to pour it into my nicely poured cup of coffee. There w...

Re: Happy Birthday, Jude

KC is my adopted AL team...although I'm a Yankees fan and have always liked the Mets. I've had the opportunity to go to 3 major league games in my business travels...and each time, the opposition was KC. So I adopted them as my second favorite AL team.

A belated Happy Birthday to you, Jude! Don't know who you were cheering for in the series. The games were exciting, even though it didn't go beyond game 5. Have a terrific year ahead!

Re: Happy Birthday, JKEerie

Thank you all very much for the warm birthday wishes! Had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy as a ran a bunch of errands and got out to vote! Heard from all the family members. I'll enjoy a nice dinner with Mom this evening and I bought myself a carrot cake for dessert! Thank you all again!
