Is there a way to make the bat optional, or to pin it at the top of the screen (or slam it against a wall) if it gets annoying?

I watch a lot of National Geographic. My favorite show is Life Below Zero...that follows a number of people who live in relative isolation...in self sustaining environments. Those folks are amazing. The newer generation ones aren't quite as compelling.
