compatibility view
What does the compatibility view do? Should I have it checked or not? Last week I could print out a jigsaw for my mother from this site and this week when I click on it, nothing happens. I was wondering if that is the problem. however, I haven't changed anything.

Re: OMG, what did I do?
My main mail is yahoo. every single time I just click on check mail it gives that security warning and I can't figure out how to stop it.
I did do all the updates - there were like 150 or so that installed after I put in the windows 7 disk, so, I think everything is up to date.

Re: OMG, what did I do?
Thanks Drac. I do have malwarebytes, but the free version. I did a scan right away. I just deleted the file folder and went to msconfig and made sure it didn't start up. let me know if there is something else I should do. I thought I was clicking on the right file - but - they always make it so hard...

In trying to download a game that someone was sending me from a site called appredit? or something like that (can't remember) I guess I clicked on the wrong "download file" button and got a lot of crap on my computer - like search my dial - which I read is really a nasty program to get on....

Re: sending a game from my old computer to my new computer
I do have a monster.exe file. Whenever I click on it, nothing happens. I did do the right click, properties, compatibility and did several changes ... like windows 95 and windows 98, but, still nothing happens. Maybe it just won't work on this new computer. I'm pretty sure all the files got transfer...

Re: sending a game from my old computer to my new computer
It wasn't a steam installer thing. at least no client sort of thing. I guess I will play with all the files and see if I can copy them and put them on this machine. there are so many different files though - there was an english patch for it and hopefully I can get them all.

sending a game from my old computer to my new computer
I have the game Hollywood Monsters on my old computer and I can't find a way to download it again - it was a free download when I put it on my old computer. So, is there a way to send it to my new computer? the file is too large to just send it by email.

Re: windows 7 compatibility mode
okay - that will do some searching to find those old disks, but, i doubt if they will work. they are from like 1995 or something. but, it is worth a shot. I do have WOT downloaded and it is in use. It didn't show these sites to be bad, but, when I clicked on the download link and went to install the...

Re: windows 7 compatibility mode
I went to the folder on my old computer where I had installed all the games from disks (I still have the floppy disks somewhere) and zipped it up and sent it to this computer. I extracted everything into a folder and when I click on the exe file it says it is not compatible. I tried changing the com...
