Re: Layers Of Fear
It's not pressing the keys so much as that you have to hold your arm over the keyboard for long periods of time. With point-and-click you can just pick at the screen with the mouse and don't have the strain of holding your arm up all the time you're playing. I'd recommend getting a wrist brace. I ha...

Re: XP XP2 & XP3
Great job.
Sometimes the journey IS the destination.
Hope you enjoy your games.
I've played Ankh, but not 80 Days.
I think there were 3 Ankh games, but I only played the first two.

Re: XP XP2 & XP3
As I said, Dell was SO picky about their drivers being THEIR drivers only! That's usually the same with all laptop brands. The company designs a custom motherboard, and pretty much everything is built into the motherboard on a laptop -- sound card, net card, touchpad, etc. Ha Ha! Once again, the jo...

Re: where are my telltale games?
Good luck getting your games. I remember having to take time out to download the ones I'd bought from Telltale while they were still available. It was a pain because I had other things to do at the time, though at least my username/password was still working. I'm glad I bought backups from GOG while...

Re: I can't help but continue to watch auctions
I admit my ebay viewing has lapsed, I was not sure if there were PC games left that still saw strong bidding demand. Anybody know if games like Alice: interactive museum or Yellow Brick Road still have demand? . I kind of doubt there's much demand for those particular two games -- at least not at e...

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing
I liked Ghost of Thornton Hall.
I thought it was the "spookiest" Nancy Drew game I ever played.
So a good one for around Halloween.

Re: Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships
I had a lot of problems finishing Seven Ships because of all the timers and arcade sequences (I won't call them puzzles). It took me forever to get through some of them. I get bored spending over half an hour trying to accomplish one thing, and never making progress. I was glad to be done with the g...

Re: Halloween Approaches!
I just started the Last Crown: Midnight Horror. I think it's a short game, but since it's set on Halloweeen, should be appropriate. . An excellent choice. Yes it is a short game, one of those shorter games created by Jon Boakes to tide people over until he can finish his longer projects. Ghost Vigi...

Re: Halloween Approaches!
The first 3 games in the series are point and click. I haven't played the others. . All 5 in the "series" are point-and-click. Here is a list with the approximate year of publication: 1. Dracula: Resurrection (2000) 2. Dracula: The Last Sanctuary (2001) 3. Dracula: The Path of the Dragon ...

Re: Halloween Approaches!
So, does anyone else like to play a good scary game before Halloween? Actually if I wanted to play a Halloween game I'd probably choose one from Big Fish. Maybe one of the MCF games like #15 The Black Veil. I thought that one was pretty spooky. Another possibility would be a Jon Boakes game, since ...

Re: I can't help but continue to watch auctions
I'm not interested in Catalina either, although I'd like to upgrade to 10.12 (whichever mountain that is). I have 10.11 on my small iPad, but I really prefer a big screen and mouse for playing. Unfortunately, I waited too long to install 10.11 on my newer iMac. It's now outsourced, so I don't know ...

Re: I can't help but continue to watch auctions
Fortunately, many more games are being ported to Macs, and there are still old DOS games that I own but haven't yet played. Those that don't work in Scumm will work in Boxer, which is DOS Box for Macs. Using DOSBox, with or without the Boxer FrontEnd, you should be able to install and play pretty m...

Re: An experiment with Pagoda
I use PAGODA fairly often. Unlike other game list sites, like Mobygames, PAGODA actually knows what an adventure game is. Not an RPG or action game. Not a platformer. Not a strategy game. Not necessarily 3rd person. One of the things I sometimes check at PAGODA is the developer listed for a game. Th...

Re: I can't help but continue to watch auctions
I wouldn't spend that much on that particular game.
But for people who have a lot of money, even that much may not be that expensive.
