Here are two quick ways and they can be combined if you like:

1. Add 2 Tbsp oil and 2 Tbsp sugar (white or brown) - this makes it taste fresher, too

2. Add 1/2 to 1 cup sour cream (depending upon size of the cake)

Neither of these require you to change anything else.

The usual way to fix that is to put one round side down, put your filling in and put the top layer round side up.

I did play it for an hour or two, up to where you are in a room in the museum with all the displays, and you had to examine each one. I enjoyed this one, but I had trouble with that 9 Man Morris, and that one with the guard where you drink from the chalice. I'm not too good at those types of mini-games. It certainly was a bizarre plot, wasn't it? I did like it though.
