Re: What Casual Games are You Playing, Continued

I still have my Big Fish membership and tend to gravitate toward the Mad Head games. They seem to have fewer hidden object puzzles, and the ones they do have are more creative, such as a stained glass picture or a wall with relief images. Since my sister loves hidden object puzzles, I do get more tr...

Re: Sous vide

This is a technique I hadn't heard of before. I probably won't try it, but I'm glad the results turned out well for you.

Re: Middletoe has died

This makes me so sad. I've known her for over 17 years, and she and I would exchange emails about older Mac games to try and about operating systems and other software. She was very knowledgeable and always helpful to me. I'll miss her.

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

I'm sorry but the patch may not have anything to do with that glitch, Val. I know it added some things, such as the map, to the original disc version, but the Steam version already has the upgrades built in.

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

Val,
Are you using the original discs or Steam download version? There is a patch that was put out very soon after the disc version came out, but Steam already has it. Someone posted it in the playthrough over at AG. I'll post it here if you need it.

I don't subscribe to any. The last thing I need is to add more time spent on the computer. :-?

Re: Disney+

I've noticed that there are quite a few "plus" channels cropping up lately. Some of the shows I like watching on HGTV are moving to Discovery+, which is annoying.

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

I went through my original ROTS game box and found the manual, but not a Book of Dead Ends. Was that a special order? Or did it come with a more deluxe game version? I know how you feel about not having the right specs. I waited a while to play Obduction and Quern. I bought the game new in 2001 fro...

Re: TV series what are you watching

When I was in my mid-twenties, I got to see a Formula 1 Grand Prix race at Watkins Glen in New York. During one of the practice runs while I was visiting the beautiful glen itself, a French driver crashed and died. It made the race itself both sadder and more intense, but I'll never forget the sound...

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

Colpet, I was so disappointed that the minimum Mac requirements for ROTS exceed those of my current computer, so I'll have to wait a while before playing it. It is interesting that they've included The Book of Dead Ends. I have the paper version of it. Val, The changing camera angles can be very dis...

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

The Steam version of Keepsake has a map, and there's a patch available for those who have the original discs. It does help with navigation along with the question mark button, which can give you a picture of where to go next if you're feeling lost.

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

I'm leading a playthrough of Keepsake over at AG. This is my first time playing it and, despite quite a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, I'm enjoying it very much so far.
