Guys, I have XP. I just checked on Amazon and this game plays up to WIN 98. Do you think it'll play on XP if I set the compatibility to '98?

Thanks, Mr. Bill. Your assessment is exactly what I thought. The graphics were astounding but the voice acting was horrible.

Microids was bought out by Ubisoft. Ubisoft acquired all the employees, but the rights to Still Life belong to Microids. So, the people who made Still Life are no longer in the company that owns the rights to Still Life. Even if Ubisoft wanted to make a sequel, they don't own the rights to Sti...

I tend to agree with everyone, here, especially with the ctrl/esc problem What a pain in the neck to have to exit the game, look for help, then restart the game!

The ending when she was in the hot tub left me feeling like soneone was going to jump out and kill her. It left me waiting for more....like a sequel!. I was really disappointed to hear that there wouldn't be one.

I was hooked on the game and couldn't put it down once I started. The suspense was great, especially at the end. I kept expecting someone to come out and get her while she was in the hot tub.

I played it twice. The second time around, that laser puzzle was a whole lot easier.

Danyboy, I gave up on the game when I couldn't get through the shootout even after doing it perfectly. It became not fun and I sold it soon after.

I haven't played any of them, either, but if I have as much trouble being detective on this series of games as I had on the last Nancy Drew, maybe I'd better leave off.

I'm in the process of getting Dark Fall - the first game - since i've heard so much about it. I'm looking forward to later getting #2 after reading your review.

Actually, I was a Nancy Drew fan in my youth, so I decided to try the games....ALL of them. Secrets Can Kill was a dissapointment, but Deception Island was interesting because of the stuff I got to learn - morse code, maritime flag stuff....not that I'll ever remember these things. It was nice to ex...

Tanuvein, I'm playing it now. It's not preachy. It's quite good. Maybe you can get it used? I've borrowed my copy from Hawka.

unlaura, I've got win XP and have been playing it ok...except for sound problems, it works. It's crashed to the desktop a few times, too, but I can always pick it up where I left off because it saves the game for me. :)

Wow! Excellent review...and I don't think I'll be getting it. I just posted on the adventure forum about how much I hated irritating and irrational puzzles. Going back over previously scanned ground in an effort to find something to put in your inventory is pointless and time consuming....and downri...
