Re: Steam, Single Player, and Cheats
Cheats should work fine for single player. I played Half Life 2 with them.

Re: Psychonauts
Psychonauts is a great game. I'm afraid I never finished it, though. The last level is supposed to be very difficult, and I barely made it through the first one. Still, it's full of unique worlds and funny humour. And all the characters have interesting personality and history! Even story-based adve...

Re: Bioshock 2 - February 9th
Have you heard about Ubisoft games now requiring you to be online all the time or you lose your progress? It just keeps getting better doesn't it?
I'll check your thread on GB. I usually only go the adventure discussions there for lack of time.

Re: Bioshock 2 - February 9th
Thanks for checking, Draclvr. I read somewhere that you can play almost without Live by using an offline account. This even lets you install the game as many times as you want since it doesn't need to varify it online. Still, I'll have to lie if I want to play multiplayer. I can talk all day about h...

Re: Bioshock 2 - February 9th
I'm a bit hesitant to use GFWL. I heard that there's only support for 26 countries, and mine is not one of them. Meaning that registering with my real location is pointless. However they don't check if you lie and give them a supported location. Still, for a huge, multinational company like Microsof...

Re: Bioshock 2 - February 9th
I really want to get this, but I don't have the time to play and $50 is a bit expensive.
Hopefully I'll have the patience to wait until it's sold at a discount (though considering the good reviews, that may take a while).

Re: Movies Watched in 2009
I watched District 9 last week. I had a bit of trouble following the backstory. It was a very depressing movie. I felt sorry for Wikus even though he started out as a bad person. Even though the action was great it got a bit ridculous for this serious movie. Not a bad movie, but not one that I would...

Re: Aveyond games
Turn based RPG. Fun to play if you're into those kinds of games. Very nice plot, lots of things to do and multiple endings.
Only played the first one, I hear no. 3 is going to come out.
You may want to play the first game, Ahriman's Prophecy which has some connection to the games. It's free.

Re: Movies Watched in 2009
Anonymous Rex - I actually read the book, but never saw the movie. The book has two sequels so maybe they were thinking of adapting them too? I can understand how the movie is bad, the book's premise sounds like it will be ridiculous as a movie. The book itself was a fun read.My only problem with i...

Re: Ceville Review
I did see the ending, but as an ending, it sucked. Sure it was a conclusion to the problem at hand, but what came after was barely resolved (and yes, I did see the scene after the credits). The bit near the end, when they overcome the bad guy, was very, very good. This is why the lack of ending was ...

Re: Ceville Review
Thanks for the review, DB. I liked the game, but I think it could've been better. The game was best when it focused on the relation between its three main characters. I thought the graphics were lovely but overused the Bloom effect (an effect that adds 'light fringes' to objects) this made everythin...

Re: Movies Watched in 2009
I thought about the same about Flightplan . However, I thought the design of the flight attendants' station was unbelievable - it was friggin' huge! Even if the airplane is really big, it's just a waste of space. Other than that - agreed. When the passangers clapped when the woman was finally stoppe...

Re: Movies Watched in 2009
However I really was shocked by some dark and sinister scenes in the movie. Just goes to show that even though there's no blood/sex/physical violence it doesn't mean kids can watch it. Luckily I was old enough when I first watched it. Curious about the sequels too, but I'm afraid the dvd would neve...
