Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

Hanoi Towers have never posed a challenge for me. Except there was this one in an old game called Rhea where the towers were upside down and not visible. . . . I just preordered Machinika Museum. At first I thought you were talking about Mechanika, which I already played a while ago (good game, BTW)...

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

Drac and GL, hush, that’s crazy talk 🙃 Don’t encourage those devs to keep making them. 😝

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

I always work them from the outside in, so I’m not sure the hole position would make much difference to me. What always gives me trouble is when I get close to the end and have to switch two of the inner tiles. The worst ones for me have some random design and give no idea what the end result is sup...

Re: What Adventure Game Are You Playing

I have achieved mastery of those accursed slider puzzles just because they are so prevalent in games. I don’t know anybody who enjoys them, which begs the question, why do devs keep putting them in games?

Re: What Casual Games are You Playing, Continued

Colpet, I didn’t call you Collet. That was stupid Siri. If you ever do get a chance to play live, you should do it. I am playing Laqueus, which is an escape the room, on iPad. I play a lot of room escapes, and this one is better than most. It doesn’t have all the same puzzle types as the run of the ...

I looked online and it said an hour per inch of thickness on steak.

Re: What Casual Games are You Playing, Continued

Collet, have you ever played a live escape the room? Super fun! There are (were) several around here. I hope they come back after the pandemic.

Re: Sous vide

Here is a picture of it. Excuse the sloppiness of the plate ☺️ It was just for me, so I didn’t make it pretty. I only took the pic to show my sister.

Reach

This is a short, free game that is well worth playing. It takes advantage of some of the additional capabilities of the iPad, which adds a fun dimension to the puzzle solving. It looks like the devs plan to keep adding to it. I hope so. What little there is is delightful. B57474E6-1D19-4540-95B5-61A...

Re: Sous vide

You put your meat in a bag with some flavorants and vacuum seal it. The immersion circulator keeps a pot of water at a set temperature, like 135F for a medium rare steak. Then you put your meat bag into the water and leave it long enough so that it reaches that set temperature all the way through. T...

Re: New Computer Advice

Last time I bought a computer was about 10-12 years ago. It was an MSI gaming laptop, one step below the very top of what was available at that time (much easier on the budget). That is the computer I still have, although I only turn it on about twice a year to update my playlist. I upgraded it to W...

Sous vide

I got a cheap immersion circulator on Amazon a couple weeks ago. I made a sous vide sirloin steak with it tonight and finished it on the grill. That was my first time ever having anything sous vide. I’ve only ever seen it on cooking shows. I really liked it. It came out a perfect medium rare, and it...
