I just finished Shivers 2. Last time I played it was over 10 years ago and I'd forgotten all the puzzles except that last one where you have to keep switching discs every time you mess up and have to retry.
It's sad there doesn't seem to be any way to save Norah's ghost from being sucked into that other dimension along with Max. I didn't remember that part.

Middletoe, drat you! This makes me want to get mine out and play it too... I'm sure it's been close to that long since I've played it too.

Did yu enjoy it as much as you did 10 years ago?

Is shivers the game with the rock music playing in the background? Or am I getting confused?

Actually I was motivated to replay it by someone else's post about it.
I've replayed the first Shivers numerous times, but not Shivers 2.

More actually. The first time I played it I had a bug where Norah's ghost didn't show up at the right time and I couldn't continue until I went back to a saved game I'd made a looooong way back. I actually traded away the game after finishing it, and had to repurchase it to replay.

It has rock videos on TV sets that you find around the game, and which you have to listen to for clues (and to trigger the availability of some of the puzzles).

What's the name of the rock bank whose members have disappeared?

It's strange that even though I didn't care much for it the first time I played, I thought it was quite good this second time. Not as good as the original Shivers, but...
I think it's because I had such a large selection of new first person puzzle-oriented games to choose from at the time I played it that it didn't really stand out. I should probably replay others, like Lighthouse and Lightbringer (Cydonia) that I also played around that time. Or maybe even Drowned God, which was definitely one of the weirdest.

More than anything else, I just remember the cool music, and of course the puzzles

Yes, I sure did. As a hobby of mine is using gameplay screenshots to create comics from, I'm planning on using the screenshots from the first black mirror game to create a graphic novel involving this rich family (with names changed, demons/angels/flying saucers added) that has an unbroken curse on their family line and the MC in the game is a medical student who returned home to find out answers about this curse and among the NPC he talks to are Victoria (his mom) after Bill (his dad) was thrown from the tower window, and Robert (his younger brother, a 2nd year med student) who always locks himself in his room to study but cannot concentrate b/c demons keep distracting him with thoughts about the curse.

I loved Shivers 1 and 2 when they were new, but find the graphics a bit wobbly now, even with Virtual PC. What are you playing on, Middletoe?
I'm presently replaying Thief 2, the Metal Age, after someone finally came up with a patch that lets it play on XP (and Win7 I believe). It was my favourite of the three and is still as good as I remember. If anyone wants it, here's the link to the patch: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106

It's a Pentium IV with XP Home and a 3.2GHz processor. It's still my main gaming machine for adventure games, though it won't play some of the newer ones.

I remember playing Lighthouse so so vividly - It's strange how some games just stand out in your mind forever - My, we are all taking a trip down Memory Lane here , huh?

Pretty much the same specs as mine, Middletoe. I think I've just got fussier over the years!

I remember liking the first half of Lighthouse, but not the second part that was underground. It was too much of a maze.

Yes, you are so right - I don't think I would have the patience to play this game right now. Does our patience levels change as we get older - I seem to have no patience here, especially when dealing with silly people!
