Here is a link to the phones that AT&T is carrying now. Just sending it cause you can see the reviews, features and compare prices of quite a few different phones. I am sure the other carriers have the same thing, I am just not familiar with their websites. http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone- ... sDST2ImnVw

OK Hawk. and thanks for taking care of that for me. Next time will wait it out - since they do not seem to follow through on "can't do a post" etc. etc.

In the mail today I got an ad for Consumer Cellular phones. Looks promising - have Senior phones and I think the Wireless Provider would be AARP as I understand it. As much as I can tell by the flyer the less expensive are the ones without cameras and the advanced has all the bells and whistles. Will go online to see if I can get more info re this phone. And will have to join AARP I suppose much as I dislike to do that. Not taken with AARP after a refusal years ago to even listen to a senior problem I was having much less want to do anything about it. But will investigate the situation. Anyone have any experience with this setup?

Also I ran across the Jitterbug phones. They looked promising but somewhere, somehow along the line I heard from can't remember who quite negative things about their service. Again anyone here have any notes on this brand/service?

If I am going to spend some money and get what I want, need to do research and be sure I am satisfied finally with the purchase. And so it goes in today's tech jungle.

Still searching for that illusive cell phone that fits my budget AND fits what I can handle re its specs. Need a large keyboard if possible, and would be nice to have hearing adjustment. But when I look at Senior phones - none so far have cameras with the large keyboards and hearing adjustments.

So taking into consideration: large keyboard, camera, hearing adjustment, budget

the cell phone continues to be a challenge. Did find something called Straight Talk however at Walmart.

$30 a month 1000 minutes 1000 text (not interested in that)
no contract
phone cost is around $40 if I remember correctly
has camera
keyboard is - so so re its size

Anybody have any feedback on this item? Or maybe experience with it?

Also wanted to know how many people give up their landlines and just maintain a cell phone. Would be much cheaper that way, but do not know the downside of doing such. Anyone has done this?

Just learned they have 1.3 pixel and 2.0 pixel in price range I can afford. Saleslady suggested staying away from touch type phones if have arthritic hands. Not sure why that would be a problem. But she said one has to be pretty exacting when using them - true? Is the pixels a feature to beware of for a decent picture?

I don't have any problems with touch screens, more so with the tiny buttons for dialing etc since my fingers are not dainty. I just like something I can "see". Not familiar with these phones though.

I too had questions why arthritic hands would have anything to do with problems with touch type cell phones.
