I thought this topic might be fun to bring around again.

I added a few new places.

It's not letting me re-vote though.
Is there any way to change from Castles to Myst-like?
I like both, but I there's often more variety in Myst-like and I didn't like the castle in The Sacred Rings at all -- grungy looking and too dark to see things in many places.

No, you can't revote, Middletoe, but some of our polls are probably due for an upgrade anyway. I'll see what I can do.

How about a spooky ship like in Titanic: Adventure out of Time? The Titanic in that game is so gloomy, dimly lit and void of human life.

Of course, I loved the environments in Legacy of Time. I nearly converted religion after experiencing that game.

I absolutely love Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. The first adventure I played (that I remember) and I've finished it a lot of times. Great game and I love the Titanic. It's funny that this game was released before the movie came out.

I think you need a "select all that apply" option, because I've played games set in many of those locations. I'd be hard pressed to pick one because so many things have to be considered before I can say "this one" or "that one."

Good scenery, good puzzles, good story, and overall game play are a few things I consider when I decide to continue or axe the game. But since Myst was the game I started with, I guueess, Myst it is. Though "select all that apply" is a better choice.

Phantasmagoria was the first adventure game that I played. Hooked me line and sinker. So spooky house always gets my vote. Next came Shivers. It is weird that my top two best adventure games are the first two that I played.

I can see where you are coming from with a "select all that apply". You are like Lady K. She finds enjoyment in all the games that she plays.

I like the Myst style surroundings. Something close to natural but with eye-catching elements such as the horn tower in Exile. I don't like things too natural though like games that have photographic backgrounds such as A Quiet Weekend in Capri.

I have voted for "Fairytale or cartoon fantasy". I like this kind of Games very much: Deponia,Jack Keane, Simon the Sorcerer, Ankh,Everlght, Gilbert Goodmate... If I could choose more I would choose Haunted Castles and the kind as well, far off places too. Actually I enjoy all of them. But if there is a category of games that I do not play that much these are the Myst-style games. It's too difficult to decide for one only from this category.
