I watch a great deal of programmes on the Zone Reality channel on my Satellite TV....and one of the ones I love watching is called Border Patrol which is about the New Zealand Customs, and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Boy, is this a great programme - Its amazing how far the NZ government goes to policing their borders - and I am not really talking about drugs etc here, although this plays a major part in their activities. What I am really talking about is the introduction of new strains of wildlife etc., including spiders, snakes, fruit and plant seeds, etc etc. They will not even let you take just one piece of fruit into NZ. I just wish the rest of the world would take note of their stringent laws. Well done, the Kiwis!!

Yes Rosaboobie, they are very strict It is great to see the border patrol
dogs working, mainly labradors for drugs and beagles for food.

So far, we can walk barefoot on the grass and through the bush without
any slithery snakes etc. to bother us.
The biggest problem though are drugs, which of course is a world wide
problem.

How I envy you, Sophie, living in a country with absolutely no snakes.

Do you have any poisonous spiders???

We only have one poisonous spider, the Katipo, more info here

We have many spider species, some because of their appearance such
as the huntsman type, Avondale Spider, which resembles the Tarantula
was used in movies such as James Bond etc.

zone reality has also shows like little people big world, jon and kate plus eight, psychic private eyes or medical investigation. These are my favourits to watch in the evening.
