Hi guys,

Anyone will be watching the Jericho seasons premier tomorow? I like that show a lot, intereting writing and good actors.

I haven't watched it since the first season. I liked the idea and it seemed pretty good at first, but then it turned into a bunch of guys shooting and threatening each other all the time, and I lost interest.

Same with Lost...

It's almost like people can't tell a visual story anymore without it quickly deteriorating into people pointing guns at each other.

It's that or a soap opera. Or both, depending what kind of series it was to start with. I suspect it's partly down to most things being made to standard US season length, and being kept running as long as they're marketable, rather than the story coming first.

In Jericho, the writing isn't as good as it could be, the main idea is interesting and yes there's a lot of shooting.

In Lost, several mysteries in each episode, connections between everyone and few answers at the time (it's amazing to see how everything connect and for those who have a good memory to see that everything fit togheter). I'm watching it since the beginning and I can't wait each week to see what will be next. I'm very interested to see how everything will end with that show. + I like the idea that they aren't affraid to kill a main character if necessary.

I have to agree that a lot of shows are made in the same mold.

But like I said before It isn't because I like apples that everyone will like them. Thanks Jude and Phlebas for you input.

I really wanted to like both shows. I guess I just have a low tolerance for people pointing guns at each other all the time. The X-Files ended up being that way, too:

"Mulder, put the gun down!"
"No, you put the gun down."
"I'm not going to do that unless you put your gun down first."
"I can't do that because I think you are possessed by something...so put the gun down or I'll have to shoot!" (or something to that effect)

So, did the 4400 at the end...

I stopped watching the X-Files on the 4th year (I think) I do understand your point. Jericho was only o.k. I was expecting more for the season premier.
