I just bought the whole Back to the Future game from Steam. Every game works great except for the second game. (tried them all to make sure). In the second game I only get a black screen and the words passenger, front bumper, etc. but, everything is black. I was thinking maybe this was the way it was supposed to be, but after looking at a walkthrough I found out that it isn't. I wrote to steam, but still haven't heard anything from them. I would like to re-download the second installment again, just to see if I got a bad download, but no matter where I go on steam I can't find my library. I see my account and the games that I bought, but there is no serial number or the option just to re-download the second episode. Can anyone tell me where I can find my library on steam or how to go about just downloading the second episode???? thanks.

You're not the only one, mbday! As long as I've been a Steam member, I still can't remember where to find my library. Let me check and I'll get back to you.

EDIT: That's it... sheesh, you'd think I would remember. You must open up your Steam client on your computer. Mine is located in All Programs/Steam/ Steam - it will say Steam Client if you hover the mouse over it. Then the Library will be at the top of the window that opens up.

I found the library for my games there, but there is not an option to download the game again. I sure don't know how to re-download the game. I assume since the other games work alright that it is just a bad download. Steam still hasn't written me back about it. Where are the downloadable files? I checked all over the steam icon and didn't see anything that had the zip files.

I had a game that worked fine, but when I went back to play it again 10 months later, wouldn't work. I posted on the forums and I got an answer withing an hour. Can't remember what I had to do, but I would recommend posting your question on the Steam forum. I had sent them a support message too, but by the time I heard back several days later, I already had it sorted out eith the directions from a couple of people on the forum.

I wouldn't expect zip files - Steam manages downloads itself.
If you open the Steam client, select 'library' at the top and you should get the list of all the games you have there - the ones you currently have installed should be in bold or bright type. Right-click on the one you're interested in and you should get a context menu which will let you 'delete local content'. Do that and it will uninstall the version of the game you have installed - the name should no longer be bold on the list. Then double-click on the name to download and install it afresh.

I will try again, but yesterday I was left clicking and right clicking on the name of the game and nothing would work. no options to do anything with it. That is a good idea posting on the forums there. I'll try that too. Thanks.

Just to check: You are running the steam client on your machine rather than looking at the store on the web, right? The web page will let you see what you own (via looking at your account profile) but I don't think you can install/uninstall from there.

I guess I wasn't. The right clicking only made me download everything they had on the page, not the game. argh. I will keep messing around with it. I tried to log into forums there, using my game account, but it kept saying that my password wasn't right. so, if I don't figure it out I will just have to hope that somebody writes me from steam (have a help ticket into them, but they are really slow).

If you're not sure where to find the Steam client to run it, an easy way would be to run any Steam game you have installed - that'll start up the client and then when you exit the game you can look for the little steam logo at the end of your Windows taskbar (I'm assuming you're on Windows) and double-click on that.

If you can't remember your password, I think there's a way to have them send it to you. Steam does not download zip files like Phlebas says. You must have found Steam Client if you are able to access your library. You might try going to the Support section and running through their troubleshooting. The forums will definitely be your quickest option.

nope. I started a game that was from steam and I have the steam icon on my task bar and I clicked on that and I see that second game there... right clicked until my hand turned blue but nothing happened. If I left clicked on the game it would just launch the game. again, tried again for a new game and only a black screen. and they still haven't written me! What poor service.

When you open up your Library, what do you see?

i hope i can paste it here... nope, I can't paste what the screen says here. anyway, i see all my games, like a vampyre story, ankh, broken sword, and all the episodes of Back to the Future. when I right click on episode 2, i get "play game, view news, view store page, view forum, recommend to friends, back up games files, delete local content, add to favorites, set category, create desktop shortcut and properties." There is nothing there about re-downloading the game. If I left click on the episode 2 it just launches the game.

That's correct - you won't see anything about re-downloading because Steam sees the game as already downloaded.

I would suggest clicking on View Forum and then you will have to register to be able to post a question. The forums are separate from the Steam site. So, register and post your question. Hopefully, someone will pick it up even though it's the weekend.

You see 'delete local content'? That's the one you want, to uninstall the version you currently have.
Then once it's uninstalled what's there you can download a fresh copy and see if that makes any difference.
