Was playing Visual Basic 2010 Express on my Acer before supper. So far, I'm enjoying it (when the programs I create work ok), I was following a book I bought over this past summer of 2011 called Visual Basic Game Programming for Teens, and I just created a clock application using VB. Next I'm trying to create a guessing game where you have guess a number. This book shows you how to create a simple RPG later in later chapters.

I got interested in game programming just to fool around with it one day when I was sitting in the Food Court at the local mall and I was thinking of the different kinds of choices that we make on a daily basis. Like for example, say I'm at the mall and I'm sitting at a table in Food Court. Now what will I do?

---choice # 1 go up to a stranger & try to strike up a conversation with them;
---choice # 2 go up to French Fry Factory and order another cup of hot tea;
---choice # 3 go to Cash In Culture and buy a DVD movie;
---choice # 4 leave the mall and go to bus stop;
---choice # 5 do nothing.

Does anyone know if there's any adventure game makers that are available to d/l that are free?

Playing Sherlock Holmes - Secret of the Silver Earring. Enjoying it immensely. An oldish game which doesn't seem old at all. :)

That's what many people do here, Rosaboobie. In fact, there are many "internet cafes" which provide WiFi service. They are especially popular with students.

I sometimes see people using wifi on the rare occasions I go to McDonalds . Maybe it's just me , but it seems to make sense that , if you're studying , would it not make more sense to have some peace & quiet , instead of studying in a public place ?

I just don't see the reasoning for taking your laptop to the cafe to play a game, that's all. Don't you go to a cafe to socialise? Or is Alien maybe playing an online game? If so, then I can understand it!

No, RB, I don't socialize at the cafe. And I'm not playing online games. It's just me, I believe - I like to get out and game for a change of scenery. The Queen Alien and I don't get away on a vacation that much, our last week-long vacation was in 2009, and I don't think the Queen is planning another vacation this year.

The kinds of games I play at the cafe are stand-alone, disc installed games, the kind you buy, you pay for the game one price, once-and-for-all, and you get to play the game as many times as you like.

Why don't you move to the States, RB? I understand that you have a laptop (or 2) - then you can go to the cafe with the laptop?

Today I played 2 movies - Star Wars A New Hope, chapter 41, arrival on Yavin 4, and SW Return of the Jedi, chapter 24, an Ewok trap.

Our immigration laws do not allow people from other countries to just move here, ABZ.
