Yup, that's what I do. Use a serrated bread knife if you have one and brush the crumbs off before you put on your pudding or frosting. I usually leave the top one uncut. For my ice cream cake, I cut each of the rounds in half also to give myself 4 layers. Like Winfrey says, have a little treat! Whil...

Hmmm... Sophie, this looks like something I could cook up a large batch of and can about a half dozen pints. I pressure can, so don't have to worry about adding something acidic. This really sounds good.

Oh, yum, Winfrey! The Cacciatore is on the menu for next weekend. I only have time to cook on the weekends. Which is a good think because we'd both weigh 400 lbs if I cooked every day! Ick! I don't think I could eat the goat meat after raising Amalia either, Hawka! Glad the guys liked it anyway.

You forget, Mr. Smarty-Pants GreyFuss--- I actually have your snail mail address. He, he, he! Just wait until you get a package of nice spicy food in the mail! Hawka, I was wondering what you were doing with all those dried chilies! I don't think you got any of the chipotles though. I thin...

And a little something for the "season" from Emeril Lagasse's recipies. I'm requested to make this every year. It's well worth the time and is really pretty easy. Andouille Sausage, Red Beans and Rice * 1 pound dried red beans * 1 tablespoon vegetable oil * 1 cup chopped yellow onions * 1/...

I tried something new this year with a couple of 5 gallon buckets of jalapenos at the end of the season. I made chipotles from them. I smoked them for about 4 hours in a smoker with different woods - wild cherry from the pasture, sassafras, mesquite and hickory. Then I dried them in the dehydrator. ...

It's too bad we lost the old Cave Party thread. That turned into a huge recipe thread! It must have been lost during the hijack or maybe it's just too old. I think it was back in 2005. Melia must post her New Year's Day Black Eyed Peas recipe. I've got it somewhere and can't find it. Here is a very ...

I for one throroughly enjoyed your comments, GreyFuss. I would SO much rather read about an actual playerr's thoughts and impressions than a professional review. Nicely done! I've never been attracted to these games, but now I may have to rethink that!

I'm glad you finally liked the game, danyboy! I know you were getting pretty frustrated in it for awhile. I really liked the atmosphere in Barrow Hill. With my 17" LCD monitor I didn't have any trouble with the darkness of the scenes. Well, except on the forest path between the cave and the gas...

Carolyn, good to see you! You've been a bit scarce lately! Between Danyboy's musings and your thoughts, I'm definitely going to check this one out. I think Hawka is going to loan me the copy she won in the drawing.

I've had my reservations about this game, but the sense of humor you indicate may tempt me to buy it, Danyboy! Sounds interesting at the least.

Great review. I may have to put that one on my list. Surely it can't be as much fun as Grim Fandango!
